I have owned SEVERAL headsets over the past eight or nine years, and have been an avid PC gamer since I was 13 years old. This headset works well, is comfortable, sounds great, and best of all there is nothing to tether your head to the computer. I’ve had the headset for a couple of weeks now and I don’t really have a single complaint about it. I don’t quite understand why people give items bad reviews simply because they aren’t capable enough to get the item to work. I bought two of these headsets one for my wife and one for myself. We sit in the same room when we play and they do not interfere with each other, or my wife’s wireless keyboard at all. I have used the headset on both my desktop and our new laptop and it works, first time every time. I haven’t had to pair the headphones with the USB transmitter or anything. Just plug the USB transmitter in and turn on the headphones and they work.

The voice morph software is fun to play with every once in a while. Yeah it’s gimmicky and dumb, but good for a laugh when you are bored on vent. I have used these headphones to play WoW, Battlefield Bad Company 2, Bioshock 2, and a few other games, without having to adjust any settings or anything like that. No, I don’t hear amazing new things I never heard before, but yes the sound is crisp and rich, and I think the surround sound feel works quite well. Sometimes you can hear ambient sounds or something from behind you while playing and it will fool you into thinking something is really happening in the room you are in. Also listening to music on these headphones is great. They get nice and loud (I was afraid they might not) and the sound quality and bass is great. They are LARGE headphones, but they aren’t heavy at all, extended use of them is comfortable and they block out a lot of background noise which is great.

I’ve seen a ton of reviews of people talking about this headset having a bad mic on it. I haven’t noticed this at all. The mic ISN’T perfect, but out of the 10-12 headsets I have owned (all of them considered high end at the time) none of them were 100% perfect. It’s a microphone, and like with all the different headsets you have to take the time to get used to using it. No, it isn’t going to act exactly like the last microphone you owned. Yes it can sound muffled if you don’t wear the headset right and keep the mic too far away from your face, sorry it’s not a magical microphone that floats in front of your mouth at the perfect distance for you, you actually have to wear the headset correctly. Everyone on vent has told me that I sound just fine on ve

Well, it was a long wait, but when I received it I was delighted with the quality and performance of this device.

I have the wireless version and the reception is amazing. I can venture off to the kitchen to grab a beverage and still hear the ready check for a raid. They paid great attention to detail for the design, which is heavy duty and to the software which accompanies it. This unit is worth every cent of the price as it adds a lot of value to the WoW experience. I’m looking forward to getting my foot trigger activator for vent.

At first I was skeptical about this, as I feel I kinda got burned with the WoW Mouse … which was this gigantic monstrosity of a brick to roll around my desktop, which I soon returned. But this device, has been pure heaven.

I have long been a Creative customer due to thier history of high quality products. They were the first and remain the best in audio technology. From my first Sound Blaster card to my current Zen X-Fi 2, they have never failed to provide the very best products. I am an avid World Of Warcraft player and when I first heard about this set, I was thrilled. For Creative to team up with Blizzard and provide a specialised set for the game was like a shiny new bicycle for Christmas. I decided not to pre-order but knew i would get one shortly after release, I have great faith in Creative. I ordered my set just yesterday (3/18/10) around 2pm CST and recieved it today (3/19/10) after choosing 1 day shipping, so a big plus to Amazon for the extremely prompt shipping. [Side note, if you have any reservations about Amazon Prime, I can honestly say it is well worth it]. I got the box in and unpacked it with the utmost glee. To be honest, I didn’t read the instructions and just plugged it in right away. It worked flwalessly, wonderful sound and managed to muffle external sounds without the aide of an electronic unit. I was impressed already. I read through the instruction manual and learned that you have to go to the website and download the software for use with it.(Nope, no cd in the box). Downloaded the software suite and set it up the way I wanted and signed into WoW to test it out. The quality is out of this world, you actually feel like you’re there, fighting the Scourge or upholding the fantacism of the Scarlet Crusade. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg. I tested it out with a few Mp3s on my system and was simply amazed at the level of detail. It’s almost like having your own personal band there, playing just for you. The software suite allows you to customize the sound level to a T and it comes with many presets. You can also use the VoiceFX software to morph your voice to a character type within the game. It’s not entirely accurate, but it is really cool. As for the package contents, I was very well pleased with it. You get a special leather pouch with the WoW logo and Sound Blaster Logo imprinted on either side. There are 2 small velcro pouches inside the leather one to store your mic boom and USB dongle which come in very handy. The plates on the side are very easy to change and they even give you a tool to take them off, how cool is that? And now to get to the real meat…

On the whole, it’s a fantastic product, which is not only good for WoW players, but for anyone looking for a lot of bang for thier buck in a set of wireless headphones for thier PC. They muffle sound exceptionally well even without being powered on. The level of customization to each persons listening style is without measure. No matter what your level of expertise in audio, you can very easily customise it to your preferences.

Now for the complaits. I can only really say 2 bad things, and one of them may very well be my fault. 1. The description is slightly misleading, I assumed the unit would recharge through the USB dongle as you were using it, as per the afforementioned description. This is not the case. True, you can use it and charge it at the same time, but only through the use of a USB cable (which conveniently comes in the box). So it is essentially a wired unit while you’re charging it. How long the charge lasts, I don’t know but I will psot an update to be more precise. 2. The software to fully utilise it MUST be downloaded, there are NO discs included with the package. I would have thought maybe they could have crammed it onto the dongle as most manufacturers do these days, but no. You have to go onto the website to get the software. That being said, you DO NOT need it for it to function, that is only for the higher level functions such as EQ control and VoiceFx.

So in closing, it’s a fantastic product that lives up to 99% of expectations ( the USB charging thing). I would reccommend it not just for WoW players, but for anyone looking for a product they can depend on to deliver the very best in performance. 5 stars most definitely. Yet another Creative victory in the ever going war over audio superiority. Yes it is a bit pricey, but if you want THE best, you’ve got to pay for it and this folks, is THE best. And about the rest of the people providing negative and marginal reviews, take it with a grain of salt. It’s way easier to be negative than to be positive and there’s no such thing as the perfect product in everyone’s eyes.

First off I used to play with a logitech headset for raids and had major ear pain after the first 6 hours or so. I wanted full over-the-ear headsets and saw these so I went for it. The major selling point to me was not the color changing earpieces, it was the comfort and light weight. The voice changing ability is really good and pretty fun.

    Comfort (+)/(-)

This is both a pos and a neg to me. The headset is super comfortable and does not press on my ears too hard, so it makes wearing them for long periods effortless. Where the neg comes in is the cord itself. Due to me losing communications during some epic 12 hour raid, I felt the need to purchase the corded version of the headset. I did not want it to fail when we were fighting some boss so I opted for a failsafe version. Bad idea, the cord is thick and covered with a mesh, cool looking but remains kind of stiff all the time. 2nd one is by far the worst. The cord connects to the headset’s LEFT side. All of the controls are on the left side, and the mic is on the left side. I am right handed as I assume almost 90% of the population is. Which makes this really difficult to have all of my USB being on the right side of my computer and the cord being on the left. My only suggestion is to replace the cord with a light weight miniUSB cord and it would be much easier to turn your head.

    Sound (+)

The sound is fantastic. Both WOW, DA:O and other games sound wonderful. The bass is deep and the highs are nice and crisp. The ear pieces do a great job of muting all outside noise and this means you can enjoy it without cranking up the sound too much. Music is also really good in these.

    Setup (+)

Its very easy to set up on both PC and Mac. I tried both and each one is cake to do. You can change the color of the ear pieces, adjust the EQ, set up keybindings and more in the included software.

    Fun (+)

When raiding it is fun to do voice changing antics. Especially after a wipe or when someone has to bio for 10 mins. Its great to have something to goof off with during those downtimes. The voice changer really does change your voice, not only in pitch but also moderation and speed. The result is several voices can sound like someone else and not sound comical. A few are downright silly, but there are ones that enable you to sound like a completely different person. Use at your own risk :) .

    Integration with voice servers (-)

Quite often I would break up on voice while using this with Vent. This happend on a few servers so I cannot blame one type vs another for the breakup and when I switched back to my old headset it went away. I think it might be the software layer between the headset and vent. I was unable to replicate it but it was intermittent at best.

    Price (+)/(-)

I think the corded version is the price the wireless version should be and the corded one should be less. It is a great headset without all the fun features, but not a stellar set that requires the premium tag IMHO.

    Overall synopsis:

If you did not have a headset and needed one to pick up this would be a fine set to get. If you like gadgets and other fun features get this set but get the wireless version. It is very good quality and I have no complaints after 2 months of owning it.

Thank you for reading my review.

This is by far the best headset I have ever owned. It is amazingly comfortable and has great sound quality. The mike is also good, but not particularly special. It does plug into the headset with a standard mike port, though, which allows it to but plugged into others of those ports on you computer, or be switched out for a different mike. It also looks a little bit large and clunky while sitting on your head.

The price is a little steep, but even though I won this headset in a contest, I think it is certainly worth the price.

Yea it’s a WIRELESS product, but dont let that fool you…the sound quality on this thing is FLAWLESS. I’m positive that you could NOT tell the difference between the wired/wireless models. I fully recommend this to anybody that does any online gaming that needs to communicate with a headset. My only complaint is that the earcups seal outside noise so well, that you can’t hear yourself speak. wish there was a way to route the mic input back into the speakers in real-time so you dont talk like you’re deaf LOL….otherwise very nice, worth the wait from Creative Labs.

I’m very pleased with this head set. I have tried several brands and have had problems with audio quality. When in ventrillo or Teamspeak after a while I would start to sound like a robot and would have to quit the application and reconnect to make the problem go away. While using this head set the problem has never popped up again. Plus the voice changer is hysterical and really works well.

The audio quality while listening to music or watching movies/tv is fantastic and the software included lets you tweak the setting evenmore.

I’m using this headset on a macintosh by the way if your Mac guy or PC guy is headset is great.

Not much to say, I bought it because I wanted a wireless headset and then this was made, I figured why not dump money into it. Its a great headset with great sound quality, I can wear it for HOURS and HOURS on end. Detachable mic is a +. Its pretty much a small stereo system on your ears.

This struck me as a little pricey for cordless headset, but any concern was blown away within my first few hours of use. The is sound is unbelievable. It absolutely immerses you in the game and the mike is as nice as any professional mikes I have used. It takes a few minutes to tweak the settings for your machine, but the return on your investment is well worth while. My only regret is that the headset is not ventilated at all, so my ears get mighty hot. I guess any ventilations would adversely affect the sound, but it would make long-term use nicer. Comfort-wise, I have absolutely nothing but good to say. I wear glasses so over the ear phones often become uncomfortable, but not these. I am delighted all around.
